With a growing catalog, a unique creative vision, and a commitment to originality, Kemo continues to develop his sound while pushing the boundaries of his artistry. Through his music, he aims to create records that connect with listeners while bringing something fresh to the underground scene. As he reflects on his journey, he talks about the songs that best represent him, how he approaches making music, and the new path he is taking with his next endeavors. With over three hundred songs in his discography, Kemo finds it difficult to pick just one exceptional record. Still, there is one song he continues to return to because of the feeling it gives him and the authenticity it represents. Speaking about the track he believes deserves more attention, he shares, "I personally feel like I’ve made timeless songs. My catalog consists of over three hundred songs already, so picking one song that represents me best is hard. If it comes to a song I’ve consistently had on repeat, I would say my song ‘HK' is the one. That song elevates me every time. The authenticity and catchiness of it have me out of my seat every time. There’s something about that song that feels timeless every time I listen to it.” For Kemo, his track "HK" embodies the qualities he strives to bring to all of his music—authenticity, energy, and a sound that continues to resonate long after its release. His comments reflect a desire to create records that stand the test of time rather than simply capturing a moment.
Knowing when a song is finished is a different process for every artist, and for Kemo, it comes down to trusting his instincts and making sure every element works together naturally. Because he handles his own mixing, he approaches each record with careful attention to detail while making sure the emotion and energy remain intact. His goal isn't to chase perfection—it's to create music that feels authentic from start to finish. Kemo remarks, "I really know when a song is finished and is ready based on me listening to it alone," when discussing his creative process. Since I mix my own music, flawless mixing is crucial. I pay attention to every dynamic, including the beat, adlibs, and my voice. He pays great attention to how each layer of the record enhances the others rather than concentrating on technical perfection for its own sake. He explains, “For me, it’s not about making the song perfect, but more about whether it all vibes together. It takes me about four mixes to finish songs because I like my music to translate well. When you vibe from just a listener standpoint, you get that originality and rawness all together into one.” Kemo's approach reflects a balance between precision and instinct, allowing each song to maintain its authenticity while delivering the polished sound he envisions.
For Kemo, growth as an artist means constantly challenging himself to explore new ideas rather than repeating what's already familiar. As he looks toward his next chapter, he's focused on expanding his sound, experimenting creatively, and building a project that reflects both his evolution and his vision for the future of underground music. When discussing his upcoming releases, Kemo notes that the music he's making now is a significant departure from his earlier work. "All of my unreleased music right now is different from what I've released in the past," he says. I'm now putting together an album with only fresh, unique sounds that I doubt anyone has ever heard. I was hitting a wall, forcing myself to create inspiration from scratch, but what I came up with during that time is a new sound and concepts that transcend all of my music to date.” Rather than viewing creative obstacles as setbacks, he used them as an opportunity to push beyond his comfort zone and discover a direction that feels entirely his own. The result, he believes, is a body of work that reflects both artistic growth and a renewed sense of purpose. Kemo hopes this new chapter can be a catalyst for creativity and help redefine the sound of the underground. “I know for sure the album I’m creating right now will influence other people’s styles, but for me personally I had to look deep within myself and find something within my music that was not only different but also acceptable to me alone,” he explains. These new sounds will definitely bring creativity, originality, and depth back to the underground and hopefully put me in that light of notoriety.” His perspective reflects a commitment to creating music that stands apart through originality rather than imitation. As Kemo continues refining his vision and expanding his catalog, he remains focused on building a body of work that is authentic, innovative, and capable of leaving a lasting impact on both listeners and the next generation of artists.
