Emerging as one of the most intriguing voices in today’s music scene, NEXTLEVEL is carving out his own lane with a relentless work ethic and an uncompromising creative process. Known for his ability to blend raw energy with intentional artistry, he approaches music-making with discipline, instinct, and a drive to constantly evolve. In a conversation about his craft, NEXTLEVEL opened up about how he chooses songs for his projects, the unexpected ways fans have connected with his music, and why he always stays true to himself. When it comes to deciding which songs make it onto his album or playlist, NEXTLEVEL’s selection process is unique. He explains that he will often make around 10 songs before reaching the point where he feels like, “Alright.” For him, it’s about a sense of entering that “10,000th hour,” though he admits there’s always another “10,000th hour” beyond it. Once he gets the feeling that, “Okay, this record is really good, this could be on a project,” he begins to build around it, making sure to maintain that same level of quality. Then, right before releasing a project, he creates another wave of songs to solidify the ending and lead into the next phase of however he’s feeling as an artist at the time.
One track that has surprised NEXTLEVEL by connecting with his supporters in unexpected ways is an unreleased song called “Jaguar Truck”, a record he and his friends have grown deeply attached to. “Every time I come around, they ask me to play it,” he shares. As far as official releases go, NEXTLEVEL admits he’s somewhat detached from what the wider audience is listening to. “If my team doesn’t tell me, I’m just focused on the next song really.” Still, he recognizes the impact of his track “REGISTRATE” from his last project, which, according to what he’s heard, is currently resonating strongly with fans. He reveals that visuals for the song are likely on the way.
NEXTLEVEL is clear: he doesn’t balance experimenting with sticking to what fans already love. “I completely go off whatever I want to make that day,” he explains. His process is guided by how he feels in the moment, but also by the level of execution and the amount of practice he’s putting in. Not every song is intended to be the song; sometimes, he creates simply to fulfill his personal goal of completing five songs in a day or during a session. At the same time, NEXTLEVEL is well aware of what his supporters appreciate most from him. “So there is a lot of music that hasn’t came out yet, that sounds nothing like what I have been putting out,” he admits. “Because it’s just not that season for me yet. But I definitely move off of me.” NEXTLEVEL’s words reveal an artist who thrives on momentum, experimentation, and authenticity. By following his instincts while staying disciplined in his craft, he continues to push boundaries—making music that reflects not only his growth but also the evolving connection with his fans.
