When asked about his most popular track, Rising star, Big Bey is quick to shift the spotlight to his audience. “When it comes to my most popular song, I honestly feel like that can be a question for the people,” he explains. “You know how you have one of those records that’s your least favorite as an artist, and that’s the record that everyone seems to gravitate towards.” Though he doesn’t offer a definitive answer, Big Bey points to a few standouts. “I would say myself there can be two or three: ‘Major Deal,’ ‘I’m Dope,’ and last but not least, my single from my breakout project Trappin Got Me Rappin 1. And it’s the single ‘Trappin Got Me Rappin,’ but that record was 15 years ago. But you know the saying—you’re sometimes never better than your last hit. Yet I don’t agree. Just some humor. Lol.”
Today, Big Bey is focused on his newest release, which he sees as more than just another track. “The latest track I have out now, I believe it’s ‘I’m The Goat.’ I feel like this record is my reintroduction and a simple reminder of who and what I represent. The record embodies the weed culture, and how fast it evolves.” The evolution doesn’t stop with the music.
Big Bey recently completed the visuals for both “I’m The Goat” and another recent release titled “Sorry.” The latter offers fans a more personal connection to his reintroduction. “Which is a record that gives me—you—a bit more of the reintroduction with an apology. I’m sorry,” he shares. Both videos were shot and edited by his longtime friend and collaborator, Shot by Renzo. “I call him that because he has been an essential part of my growth as an artist,” Big Bey says. “That’s Shot by Renzo—one of the dopest growing cinematographers around. Can’t wait for you all to see it.” Looking ahead, Big Bey is ready to make a major impact with his next release. “The next album is all wrapped up, Trappin Got Me Rappin 3. Right now we just working up that momentum and then—boom!” Big Bey’s blend of humility, confidence, and creative drive continues to define his legacy, as he reminds fans that reinvention is just part of the journey.
